I don't need to pray

The essence of Satan’s deception is that we can live our lives independent of God. The enemy doesn’t care if we “believe” in God. If we are doctrinally orthodox, or if we fill our schedules with a lot of “spiritual activities” as long as he can get up to run on our own steam, rather that living in conscious dependence upon the power of the Holy Spirit.

If he can get us to live the “Christian live” without cultivating an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus, he knows we will be spiritually impotent and defeated. If he can get us to operate on our thought and ideas, rather than seeing the wisdom that comes from God, he knows we will eventually get sucked into the world’s destructive ways of thinking.

Far too often I find myself tuning my attention to details and tasks of the day without first taking adequate time to “inquire of the Lord”. When I do so what I am really saying is that I can handle that day on my own – apart from the presence wisdom, and grace of God. I am saying I can do my work, keep my home, handle my relationships, and deal with my circumstances without Him. Munger in his book “My heart, Christ’s Home,” goes on to tell how he showed Christ around the house of his heart, inviting him to settle down here and be perfectly at home, welcoming him room by room. Together they visited the library of his mind _ “a very small room with very thick walls.” They peered into the dining room of his appetites and desires. They spend a little time in the workshop where his talents and skills were kept, and the rumpus room of “certain associations and friendships, activities and amusements.” They even poked their heads into the hall closet filled with dead, rotting things he had manage to hoard.

As Munger describes each room I feel so connected because it describes my heart as well, but is his description of the drawing room that will forever change the way I approach my time with the Lord.

We walked next into the drawing room. This room was rather intimate and comfortable. I like it. It had a fire place, overstuffed chairs, a book case, sofa, and a quite atmosphere. He also seemed pleased with it. He said, “this is indeed a delightful room. Let us come here often. It is secluded and quiet and we can have fellowship together.”
Well, naturally, as a young Christian I was thrilled. I could not think of anything I would rather do than have a few minutes apart with Christ in intimate comradeship.
He promised, “I will be here every morning early. Meet me here and we will start the day together.” So, morning after morning I will come to the drawing room … they were wonderful hours together. But little by little, under the pressure of many responsibilities, this time began to shortened.. I began to miss a day now and then.. I would miss it two days in a row and often more.

I remember one morning when I was in a hurry.. as I passed the drawing room, the door was ajar. Looking in I saw a fire in the fireplace and the Lord sitting there… “blessed Master, forgive me. Have you been there all these mornings?”
“yes,” He said, “I told you I would be here every morning to meet with you.” Then I was even more ashamed. He had been faithful in spite of my faithlessness. I ask His forgiveness and he readily forgave me.. Hi said “the trouble with you is this: You have been thinking of the quite time, of Bible study and prayer time, as a factor in your own spiritual progress, but you have forgotten that this hour means something to Me also.”

The presence of the Lord, a place where we can be comfortable. It’s a place of transparency and vulnerability; a place where we are completely known.. and yet completely loved. This is Home

Happy New Year, and one Year Closer

One year closer to His return!!
Hosanna, Hosanna In the highest

Juan 3:16

The day was DEC 17 1903 the place was KEDIHOK NC ORVEL AND WIRVEL RIGT HAD JUST MADE HISTORY BY KEPIN their flying invention in the air for a total of 59 seconds. They were so elated they rushed to the telegraph office and wire their sister in Dayton Ohio “first sustained flight today for 59 seconds” the message wred, “hope to be home by Christmas” their sister was so thrilled she rushed to the Dayton daily news and gived them the telegraph so they can published in the paper. Sure enough they next day there was an article about the writes in the paper the head line wered like this
“local bicycle merchant to be home for the holidays” there was not one mention of their 59 second flight in the entire article. I red that and I though that is the way we do Christmas so often, everything around the circumference gets written up and the real wonder of the season gets lost in fact in many circles it doesn’t get even mention

Mi Rey

Serve With Joy

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Ephesians 2:10a

Recently a young man wrote to a noted business magazine, asking advice about his job. He said he had fallen into the position because there were no other options for him, but it was a job he hated. He detested arriving at the office every morning, was bored out of his mind all day, and left as early as possible every afternoon. He so disliked his work that it was affecting his sleep and his relationship with his girlfriend and parents. He found his clients "boorish," his position "worthless," and his work was "mindless, menial, miserable drudgery."
Perhaps we all face an unpleasant job situation at one time or another, but our work for the Lord is a different matter. As Christians, we're each given a personal ministry, a work that only we can do for the Kingdom. Every day we have the obligation of fulfilling the Lord's agenda for our lives, and every day there are some good works for us to do. These aren't burdensome or boring. They are enriching, fruitful, and pleasing to the Lord. How wonderful that the Divine Employer has a task for us today! Serve Him with joy and always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Good works do not make a good man; but a good man does good works. Martin Luther

El Mejor Make Over

Camping in NC

SOMETHING ABOUT FOOD

Eat locally grown produces, who would have thought that make such a difference? Well Barbara Kingsolver, with Steven L. Hopp and Camille Kingsolver for 1 year ate only things that were in season, bought only locally grown produces and are changing the way we look at food in the market. Have you ever stop to think how long a typical fruit travels to get to your supermarket?. Think about 1500 miles !!! that is not even counting with the produces that come from other countries, in their book they encourage us to purchase from the local farmers market. This year we planted a big garden, we have eaten so many things from it, watermelons, cantaloupes, peppers, tomatoes mmmmmm there is nothing like a fresh tomato, it taste completely different than the ones purchased at the store. Of course we can a lot of it

YEAP that is my Hubby he's the gardener, I’m the eater it works really good for us.

Advice That Rings True

I like to share with you this devotional I got in the email from Turning Point ministries

Last year in Jackson, Mississippi, a newspaper reported about a man whose wedding ring saved his life. He was working in an antique store when two men walked in and asked to see a coin collection. One of the men pulled a gun and demanded money. When the gunman fired a shot, the clerk threw up his hand instinctively to shield himself, and his wedding ring deflected the bullet.
That ring on a husband's fourth finger is more than a piece of jewelry; it's a life-changing symbol. It stands for his commitment to put the needs of his wife before his own needs. He's to love her as Christ loves the church.
That includes simple everyday affection—a hug, a kiss, an ear to listen, hands to help with the housework, well-chosen compliments and words of encouragement, an evening out, a romantic date. Dating after marriage, in fact, is one of the great keys to a long-lasting romance. These are things that can deflect the devil's bullets and protect a marriage.
If you are married, when you see the ring on your finger, think of God's advice that always rings true: Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church.
Few things are as hollow as a relationship intended for passion that instead is marked by mere duty…. A love relationship… is what God intends us to have.
Maxie Dunnam

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.
Ephesians 5:25
